Basic Welding
Description
Welding techniques studied include MIG and electric arc welding; use of circuit and current controls, protective devices and care of equipment and accessories. Metallurgical considerations, electrode and base metal, and electrode classifications. Carbon arc welding, oxy-acetylene cutting, MIG, physical testing and analysis of weld specimens are conducted in the lab.For hybrid and online sections, minimum technology requirements are a working camera and microphone. Students are to switch both on at the instructor’s request.
