Topics include embedded operating systems kernel architectures and examples, embedded Linux component stack, real-time scheduling, synchronization, communication, storage, process and memory management, hardware interfacing and device drivers, and real-time operating system performance analysis. Students use the latest tools to customize open-source systems and build a processor-independent embedded operating system.
